Cameras are incapable of capturing the world as we see it. Not yet anyway.

High-Dynamic Range  (HDR) photography combines several photographs of the same scene, with the objective of combining them into one final image with full dynamic range.

One photograph is at normal exposure, one is brightened up considerably (to show detail in the shadows) and one is a bit darker (so we can see the details in the bright areas).

Sometimes we only need to combine 2 images to get the look we want, sometimes 3 images are required, while other times we may need more.

The results we create can run the range from artistic to surreal, to the natural.

I prefer the natural look...
